KICKERS CHALLENGE- THE ULTIMATE TEAM WEAPON

7on7U introduces the “Kickers Challenge”. The skills test for punters, place kickers and kick off specialists.  The Kickers Challenge will establish an overall winner as well as 3 category champions.  The Kickers Challenge will take place during all 7on7U tournaments.

The preliminary rounds of challenge will take place during the pool play of tournaments and the finals of the challenge will take place before the finals of each 7on7U tournament.

RULES FOR KICKERS CHALLENGE

Punting Competition

4 punts for each participating Punter

  • 2 for distance and hangtime
  • 1 coffin corner left
  • 1 coffin corner right

* Coffin corners will be 10 yd by 10 yd square marked by cones a 9 ft. circle will be inside corner - Scoring, each punt for distance will be ranked with low rank being the best. Each coffin corner will be scored subtracting points from the ranking of distance. 1 for punt landing in square and 2 for punt landing in circle in air.  The low total score is the Punters Champion.

Example: Scoring  Distance- Punt 1 ranking of 6 Punt 2 for Distance ranking of 13. Total distance punt ranking of 19 . Left coffin punt , punt 1 no score, punt 2 -1. Right coffin punt punt 1 -1 and punt 2 -2.  Total 19 for distance punt -4 for coffin kicks equals a total of 15 for final score.  Low score gives punt winner.

Punters will be ranked from 1 up for final rankings.

Kick off Competition

2 for distance

Scoring same as Punts

Place Kicking:  1 kick from each hash from 30, 35, 40, 45, 50,  If kicker makes one from 50 , tries from 55, makes from 55 tries from 60 etc.

Scoring :  makes from  30-1 pt, 35- 2pts, 40 -3 pts,45-4 pts ,50-5pts,etc

Add total points and the highest score is champion: Ties have kickoff starting at 30 and moving back with each kicker getting one kick till someone misses.

Overall champion will take ranking from all 3 categories and lowest total is champion. If tie kicker will get 1 punt for distance, 1 kick off for distance and 1 field goal for distance and accuracy. Kicker will pick what distance he wants to try from. Total distance is overall champion.

7on7unatchamp19How does your team measure up?

7on7U Team Combat Combine each team competes individually and as a team unit to determine overall score versus other teams competing in combine. The 7on7 University Combine competition format tests each team’s individual athlete in specific drills and skills that include:

    • 40 yard sprint timing
    • Zybek measured Vertical
    • Broad Jump
    • Bench Press
    • Individual 1 on 1 position testing- During the testing portion of the 7on7 Combines each player on the teams participating are put into position groups (i.e. - all QB’s compete in same group, all RB’s at combine compete in group, ect).

How Team points are awarded in the 7on7 University Team Combat Combine:

Scoring Teams  40 Yard Times-

photo timing zybek

Teams are awarded points according to average overall calculated team time. The lower the teams 40 time score, the more points the
team is awarded. The amount of points for the 40 yard dash are determined by the amount of Teams or Schools participating in the Team Combat Combine- Example- if it is a 16 team 7on7 Combine- teams are awarded between 1 to 16 points, 16 points going to the team with the lowest (fastest) overall 40 time-1 point going to the highest(slowest) overall 40 time.

VERTICLE

Determining each Teams overall Vertical Score-

All Vertical measurements of each player on participating teams are added together to come up with the average overall total feet and inches the team registered. The higher the overall measurement a team has the more points are awarded.   Example- if it is a 16 team 7on7 Combine- teams are awarded between 1 to 16 points, 16 points going to the team with the highest overall Verticle measurements- 1 point going to the team with the lowest overall Verticle measurements.

Determining each Teams overall Broad Jump Score-

All Broad jump measurements of each player on participating teams are added together to come up with the total feet and inches the team has. The higher the overall measurement a team has the more points are awarded.   Example- if it is a 16 team 7on7 Combine- teams are awarded between 1 to 16 points, 16 points going to the team with the longest overall Broad Jump measurements-1 point going to the team with the lowest overall Broad Jump measurements.

BENCHPRESS
Determining each Teams overall Bench Press Score-

All Bench Press  lbs of each player on participating teams are added together to come up with the total lbs benched. The higher the overall lbs a team lifts the higher # of points is awarded.   Example- if it is a 16 team 7on7 Combine- teams are awarded between 1 to 16 points, 16 points going to the team that has benched the most overall weight, 1 point going to the team with the lowest overall Bench press weight.

Determining the seed and points awarded for the 7on7 Tournament portion of the 7on7 Team Combine-

The Tournament seeds are determined by overall performance in the Combine testing- All testing scores and place each team finished in the Combine testing determines what seed teams are going into the 7on7 Tournament- the Team that had the best overall performance will be a #1 seed, the team with the worst overall team performance will be the 16thseed. The team that wins the Tournament receives 16 points for first place-1pt for 16th place. The 7on7 Passing Tournament will be single elimination.

Determining the Overall 7on7 Team Combine Champion- The Team that has the highest points overall will be named the 7on7 Combine Champion. Award are given individually for MVP's of each position and Fastest man, Strongest Man, Over all Team Combat MVP
